BBR Supports Next Generation of Professional Leaders Through LSU Suit Up Grant

Every job seeker should have the opportunity to feel confident making their first impression on a potential employer. One of the necessary tools for navigating career experiences and a job search is professional attire options for interviews and networking. LSU’s Olinde Career Center recognizes that access to a professional wardrobe is not always possible for students financially.

In collaboration with LSU and other organizations, BBR was able to sponsor several students experiencing financial difficulties with the funds necessary to purchase professional attire. The LSU SuitUp Grant provides about 50 selected students with $200 to use toward professional attire during the SuitUp with JCPenney event, ensuring recipients are competitive not only in academics and skills, but also in professional appearance. This grant is a partnership among the LSU Olinde Career Center and JCPenney, providing students the confidence they need to interview and be leaders in the community and workforce. Partners like JCPenney also offered 30% exclusive discounts to recipients to purchase apparel, shoes and accessories.
